ã Practicing the Tao Te Ching: 81 Steps on the Way ↠´ Download by ✓ Solala Towler Most People Think Of The Tao Te Ching As A Book On Philosophy Or A Treatise On Leadership Yet There Is A Little Known Treasure Hidden Within The Familiar Passages Of Lao Tzu S Work Step By Step Practical Guidance For The Spiritual Journey With Practicing The Tao Te Ching, Renowned Teacher Solala Towler Reveals A New Facet To This Spiritual Classic, Offering Accessible Instructions Paired With Each Of The Verses Of The Tao Te Ching Tao Is A Way Of Deep Reflection And Learning From Nature, Considered The Highest Teacher, Writes Towler It Teaches Us To Follow The Energy Flows Within The Heavens, The Earth, And Our Own Bodies With Lucid Instruction And Deep Insight, He Guides You Through Meditations, Movement And Breathing Practices, Subtle Energy Exercises, And Inner Reflections All To Help You To Embody Taoist Wisdom In Every Aspect Of Your Life I have many translations and explanations of of Tao Te Ching, but this is my favorite to date You will find help in understanding The Tao here if you have been a long time student or are new to the teachings of The Way.
I liked this so much I have bought both the Kindle and the hard copy Solala is a longtime student of Taoist Arts and of Master Ni Nice commentary on the Tao Te Ching with an exercise or contemplation for each verse These exercises lay the foundations for both a healthy life and serve as an intro to Neigung and other inner techniques.
The author is a long time student of Master Ni Hua Ching, arguably the most accomplished Taoist in the West I have not read any of Solala Towler s other six books This book uses Master Ni s translation of the Tao Te Ching, and I must assume that the practices associated with the 81 stanzas must have been transmitted to Solala from his primary teacher of Taoist arts The timing of the release of this book is particularly interesting because another highly acclaimed teacher of Taoist arts, Bruce K Frantzis, is about the do the same thing as the Ni and Towler team provide a fresh translation of the Tao Te Ching and also provide a practitioner s guide to the text Dr Alan Peatfield and Bruce Frantzis have very recently made a new tran not completely through it yet Lots of good information and exercises to deal with Like it so far.
I m greatly enjoying going through this book slowly Each of the 81 practices are beautifully explained in clear language I recommend this to anyone interested in living a heart centered life.
I ve loved the Tao te Ching ever since I first encountered Stephen Mitchell s illustrated translation decades ago Solala Towler goes beyond translation, providing us Westerners and probably some non Western folks, too with a practical way to connect with the Tao te Ching and bring it into our lives in concrete ways The commentaries provide historical and philosophical context, while the easy to follow exercises illuminate the text and its teachings in ways I ve not experienced before.
I m grateful to Solala Towler for helping me fully connect with one of my favorite texts.
Lovely writing and very effectively blends Taoist ideas with qigong practices.
Great exercises at the end of every enlightening chapter Great exercises at the end of every enlightening chapter
