[ Read Online The Story of Crossrail ☆ st-petersburg PDF ] by Christian Wolmar Ý I thought I knew about Crossrail but this book gave full history and politics and made it a fascinating read From one of my favourite factual as opposed to fictional authors Christian Wolmar too which helped Well worth having on one s bookshelf Sadly of course, it is already out of date because Crossrail is heavily delayed again in its opening I hope a future edition of this book will bring us fully up to date when it is fully running.

This is an excellent, and most detailed account of the facts behind Crossrail, and brings everyone,or less, up to date well, sort of One can never really predict the final outcome, but save to say, things looks pretty damned good.
I only have one gripe I would have liked to see a bigger photographic section in the book there are two that give the reader a better understanding of the complexities outlined in the final third of the book This is the real technical bit, and right up my street.
But what the heck, I guess I can go to the Crossrail web site and fill in the techno blanks Whatever the case, a great read.
A nice enough book, as already said not enough photos I felt those that were published were a bit samey and quite dull.
What really ought to have been included somewhere is a few diagrams drawings No route plan, station diagrams etc I expected some technical info but it is a Wolmar book afterall so I ought to have expected nothing special.
